Course Overview
This training course provides essential knowledge and practical skills for operating a Trimble Total Station with Trimble Access for general site setting out tasks. While no prior experience with Trimble Access is required, a background in surveying or setting out is advantageous. The course features an initial classroom briefing followed by hands-on outdoor fieldwork exercises.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Perform a Resection station setup
- Verify position accuracy using a Control Point
- Select appropriate Trimble Target types and tracking modes
- Create and manage Projects and Jobs
- Import setting out design data from CSV, DXF, and TTM file formats
- Execute setting out for points, polylines, and surfaces
- Install pegs and profile board markers
- Apply offset techniques for setting out tasks
- Manipulate CAD drawings, including exploding elements and creating nodes
- Measure surface points and compute volume calculations
- Generate professional setting out reports

Target Audience
This course is designed for professionals responsible for site setting out tasks using Trimble Access, including site engineers and survey engineers. While no prior experience with Trimble equipment is necessary, familiarity with surveying or setting out practices is beneficial.
