Surveying Bipods

A surveyor’s bipod is an essential tool for securing and stabilising survey instruments. Designed to allow accurate and precise measurements and maximise efficiency in even the most challenging environments, bipods are an indispensable part of your toolkit.

What Are Bipods and How Are They Used?

Surveying bipods are lightweight, adjustable, two-legged stands used to stabilise surveying instruments such as GPS and GNSS receivers, total stations and prisms.

Their design makes them easy to use and quick to set up. They also ensure minimal movement whilst measurements are taken, reducing costly errors caused by equipment shifting.

To use a bipod, simply attach your range pole, prism pole or GPS receiver using the built-in clamp, adjust and lock the legs to the desired height and position as required. Then measure away!

Trimble Bipods You Can Rely On

Trimble’s durable and portable bipods are made from the highest quality materials, and are suitable for use with Trimble surveying equipment including range poles, GPS receivers and more. Whatever conditions you may be facing in the field, whether high winds or uneven terrain, these bipods ensure reliability, stability and precision.

For ease of use, you can’t beat Trimble’s thumb-release bipod for range poles. At under 2kg, it’s incredibly lightweight, and the fully adjustable legs extend from 109cm (43 inches) to 183cm (6 ft).

We also offer a carbon fibre range pole and bipod kit. Featuring the Trimble thumb release bipod, a 2.5m telescopic range pole and a handy carrying case, this kit is suitable for use with all Trimble R-series GNSS receivers.
