Galliford Try are the contractors on the £300 million Scotswood regeneration project, a 62-hectare scheme in the west end of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and will carry out most of the £19m-worth of site preparation work.  Of course a job like this is a perfect showcase for the Trimble SPS range of products and PQS Survey were quick to introduce Galliford Try to both KOREC and Trimble’s SPS882 GPS and TSC3 logger with SCS900 Site Controller software on board. Hillhead 2012 – Heavy Construction, Recycling & Quarrying show

Without wishing to by-pass spring completely the KOREC team are already planning our summer events, and we start with Hillhead in June. If the weather at Hillhead this year is anything like that in 2010 then top of the list for stand purchases will be sunblock and sunhats for the Machine Control team. In good Company with COMIT

This is probably best explained by taking a quick look at the COMIT Mission: “COMIT’s mission is to promote the use of mobile technology within the UK construction industry by spreading best practice, promoting new developments and facilitating understanding between technology providers and construction companies.” KOREC were originally invited to participate in a COMIT project to investigate whether Augmented Reality can be of use in a construction environment,… Read More

Calling all Colleges!

KOREC’s Construction Sales Consultant for the north, Rob Hudson, has been fine tuning his presentation skills with a recent ‘guest speaker’ slot for New College, Durham. Tasked with passing on his knowledge and enthusiasm for Trimble Products to the College’s HNC Civil Engineering students, Rob enjoyed a lively day and earned a glowing letter or thanks from the College’s Lecturer in Construction, Richard Byers. “This was a really good practical demonstration and good lecture about the systems, making it very interesting and impressive and showed the advanced technology used and also gave the students “hands on” use of the equipment…..I… Read More
