For all those who use Trimble office software to post-process GNSS survey data there is now a new configuration update file available dated 17th October 2011. This file updates the antenna and receiver information used in GPS post processing to ensure that the best possible levels of accuracy are achieved from your data. As the Ordnance Survey take advantage of the regular improvements in receiver and antenna technology it is important to keep up to date with the characteristics of any new hardware in order to calculate GPS positions accurately and correctly. The latest Configuration update file can be found… Read More

It has come to our attention that it is no longer possible to compute fixed positions from GNSS (GPS) observations using Trimble Geomatics Office software. This results from the number of GPS seconds rolling over 1 billion shortly after midnight on 14th September 2011 (0 seconds having been set on 6th January 1980) and the WAVE Baseline Processor not being able to handle the numbers involved therefore any data observed on or after this date will not process to a fixed position in TGO. It is still possible to process float solutions although this does not usually provide sufficient accuracy… Read More

The KOREC stand contractors will be heading off to the NEC early on Sunday morning to join a whole fleet of vehicles and contractors vying for the elusive parking space as close to the exhibition hall as possible for the construction of the stands. Thankfully for our team they shouldn’t take too long to unload and set up the stand as KOREC are following a similar approach to last year, i.e. that small and powerful things can be found in small packages. Whilst our stand may not be the biggest, we have plenty of strength, depth and KNOW HOW. Come… Read More

KOREC and The Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (CEH) , were doubly blessed at the latest survey photoshoot – a glorious South Wales location in October’s glorious sunshine! Our thanks to Charlie Stratford who took the time out to provide us with the information we needed for our ‘Shifting Sands’ story in Geoconnexion and for starring in the photoshoot.
