This course provides a practical introduction to capturing survey data using a Laser Scanner. Covering setup and measurement strategies, registration and georeferencing of scan data to Control coordinates.  Data processing is completed using Trimble Business Center software for the output of point clouds and orthoimages ready for use in CAD.

This course is suitable to anyone new to operating a Laser Scanner or who is considering using one in the future.

 

Learning Outcomes

  • Set up, calibrate, and operate a Trimble X9 Laser Scanner
  • Capture, register, refine and export scan data using Trimble Perspective software
  • Import, QC, and clean scan data within Trimble Business Center
  • Create horizontal (floor plan) and vertical (elevation) slices through cloud
  • Export point cloud data and orthoimages to CAD

By the end of the course, delegates will have a good understanding of the steps required to capture and process data captured using a Laser Scanner.
