Monitoring Technical Support

Reporting to the Business Area Manager the Monitoring Technical Support person will assist the Monitoring team in a wide range of duties, from initial customer meetings and demos all the way through to supporting active installs and decommissioning.

You must be flexible to work throughout the UK.

Assist in achievement of overall revenue targets for the business area.

Promote Trimble product sales to include:

  • Work as a key member of the Monitoring team working with the Geospatial teams to build customer relationships and sales in the UK
  • Assistance in key customer demonstrations and presentations
  • Participation and assistance in trade shows, road shows and user group events
  • Develop dealer sales and technical support personnel competency to demonstrate, sell and support new technology products. This includes providing structured and informal training on products, technology and application of technology
  • Assistance in preparation of tender documents and specifications
  • Recommendations as needed on product configurations, part numbers, and options as required to suit customer needs and applications
  • Maintain up-to-date skills and knowledge on the latest monitoring technology; proactively seek out training to ensure “early adapter” knowledge
  • Be current on competitor manufacturer product offerings (features, benefits and customer interest in these products) in the region, report information internally together with recommendations as required
  • Respond to technical issues from customers
  • Preparation and configuration of monitoring equipment, prior to deployment.
  • Assistance with customers onsite, during installations. Will include night work and weekend work when required
  • Preparation, maintenance, and support of Trimble monitoring software
  • Other duties as required
  • Complying with Health and Safety processes to safeguard the interests of the business, our employees and customers

Education / Experience

  • Survey or Geotechnical background is preferred
  • Monitoring basic training preferred
  • Technical support training preferred
  • Rail/Engineering training preferred
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Clean driving licence

Local Requirements

  • Applicants must live in a location that is conducive to travel and support within the defined territory.
  • Applicants will be expected to travel 50% of the time
  • Flexible working hours, ability to work weekends or nights when required
