RealWorks is Trimble's post processing software for data captured by laser scanner and the VX Spatial Station. Whilst scanning has a massive WOW factor, it is ultimately limited unless it is possible to get suitable deliverables from a point cloud to something a client can use. RealWorks makes this process incredibly quick and simple and this course covers the use of the RealWorks Survey Standard software to achieve this aim.
The course begins by providing an overview of the software interface and the various modules that comprise the system. The various data import options and formats are covered, followed by the registration and geo-referencing functions to place scan & other data into a coordinate system. Initial data processing is performed to prepare surveyed scan data and photos for further processing.
Processing then takes in creation of polylines by drawing over point clouds and photos, the extraction of coded survey points and measurements, followed by the creation of sections. Point cloud data can be converted into mesh models, which can be used for further data analysis or photo realistically rendered. Volume calculations are performed for individual point clouds and meshes, plus between clouds. Before the data export section rectified images and scan data orthoimages are created.
The course finishes by practicing the various data output operations, plus the creation of value added products including video animations and mesh models in Google Earth.
