Realworks is Trimble’s post processing software for data captured by laser scanner and the VX Spatial Station. In addition to scan data from Trimble devices, RealWorks is also able to import and process data from other scanners, particularly the FARO Focus3D. This two day course includes all the items covered in the RealWorks Standard course on day one. On day two, the additional functionality found within the Survey Advanced and Modeler modules are explored.
The Survey Advanced functionality covered on the morning of day two, focuses initially on the creation of profile and cross section lines, how these can be inspected and produced as polylines. The focus then shifts to the surface inspection tools, especially the twin surface inspection tool which can be used in the detailed comparison of two surfaces through a variety of visualisations and reports.
In the afternoon the modeling functions are introduced. How to extract models from point cloud data and also how to create them manually. Modeling is extended to include semi-automated extraction of pipes and steelwork. Finally the models are exported to a variety of different formats for use in plant design and CAD systems.
