GeoSite is a comprehensive yet easy to use land survey data processing and drafting software package. It incorporates a powerful traverse adjustment module, incorporating conventional methods and least squares adjustment options. GeoSite is also commonly used for the creation and editing of surface models and related earthworks volumes computations.
The course reflects these main uses. It begins by covering the data import and traverse adjustment computations functions. The subject of data editing is then studied. Typical CAD editing operations are practiced including COGO. Also survey specific edits are made, such as changing of codes, instrument heights, levels and target heights. This section of the course also covers the creation and modification of a feature library for the processing of field codes to automatically draft surveys for delivery.
Surface operations such as surface creation and triangle editing are performed next. This section includes the computation of stockpile and surface to surface (cut/fill) volumes. Plus the 3D visualization of surface data and contour creation. Long section and cross sections are created, which is a particularly strong feature of GeoSite.
The second day of the course if completed by running through the title block and printing options, to enable professional looking drawings to be created. If required there is a module on the creation of building elevations from survey data and the course is rounded off with an examination of the export tools, including CAD output and setting out points.
