Business Centre HCE (Heavy Construction Edition) is a software package developed by Trimble, aimed at the Heavy Civils industry. The “Core” version of the software is completely free to install on as many PC’s as the customer wishes. The software can then be added to with various modular purchasable packages, using a USB “dongle” plugged into the PC.
This course covers the use of Business Centre HCE for producing Formation and Ballast designs to be used in the Rail industry utilising GCS900 Machine Control and SCS900 Site Controller Software.
The course includes a basic introduction to Business Centre HCE, covering various topics from editing lines and points, importing data into projects and selection methods. These tools are then used to start the creation of “corridors” – these are the software’s method of designing linear road or rail designs, utilising cross-section and automatic transitions.
Once the corridors have been designed, they are then exported to file formats used on site. In the case of using Trimble GCS900 Machine Control, the files are saved as SVD/SVL files, and in the case of using SCS900 Site Controller Software, the files are saved as PRO roadway files.
