Business Centre HCE (Heavy Construction Edition) is a software package developed by Trimble, aimed at the Heavy Civils industry. The “Core” version of the software is completely free to install on as many PC’s as the customer wishes. The software can then be added to with various modular purchasable packages, using a USB “dongle” plugged into the PC.
This course covers the use of Business Centre HCE and the additional add-on module for Surface Tools.
The course includes a basic introduction to Business Centre HCE, covering various topics from editing lines and points, importing data into projects and selection methods. These tools can then be utilised in the creation of surface models, and manipulated using the surface tools available.

Those completing this course will be able to:
- Import and export a variety of data filetypes into and from a Business Centre project
- Understand the Business Centre project settings, and how to create project templates
- Understand the Field Data menu, and use it to export data to different controller types
- Be able to create surface models and trim them accordingly
- Know how to build a corridor model, and how to use templates to control the surface model
- Use different reports
- Use the various editing tools available to change data properties.
