Trimble GCS900 System with Dual GPS

Prev Next

The Trimble GCS900 Grade Control System is flexible, fully upgradeable, and can be installed on machines from any manufacturer. Using the industry-standard Controller Area Network (CAN), you can easily add sensors and upgraded software to meet specific machine and application requirements.

GCS900 Grade Control System with dual GPS can be installed on excavators with standard buckets or tilt buckets for mass excavation projects; on dozers for a wide range of earthmoving applications; on scrapers for mass excavation applications; on motor graders for a wide range of earthmoving applications; and creates a full 3D control system that puts the site plan - design surfaces, grades and alignments - inside the cab

  • Significant cost saving
  • Less time to completion
  • Less rework
  • No waiting for stakes to be set
  • More accurate, more consistent excavation
  • Perform more complex excavation

GPS-BASED GRADE CONTROL SYSTEMS IDEAL FOR LARGE SITE PROJECTS AND LONG-TERM, MULTI-PHASE PROJECTS.

The dual antenna configuration is unique to Trimble GPS-based Grade Control Systems. Using GPS, the exact position, very accurate cross slope and heading of the blade is measured. This is especially advantageous for complex design surfaces such as super-elevation grading tasks.
The on-board computer uses this position information, and compares it to the design elevation to compute cut or fill to grade. This information displays on the Control Box screen in plan, profile, cross-section view, or text. The cut/fill data is also used to drive the valves for automatic blade control. Additionally, the cut/fill data is passed to the GCS900 lightbars, providing additional visual guidance to the operator for up/down to grade and right/left to a defined alignment. The GCS900 on a dozer can be operated in either indicate or automatic mode.

The GCS900 system on an excavator uses two GPS receivers and solid state angle sensors to measure the precise 3D position of the tip of the bucket. Using the system on excavators with tilt buckets allows for shaping V-ditches and operations where the excavator is digging a slope that is not perpendicular to the boom. The rugged AS300 angle sensors have no moving parts, and can be submerged in up to 20m (66ft) of water making the GCS900 for excavators ideal for underwater excavation applications. Using the Trimble GCS900 with dual GPS on a dozer allows contractors to significantly improve their productivity and profitability. The GCS900 on a grader can be operated in either indicate or automatic mode.

The GCS900 system with GPS is ideal for roads and highways (rough grading), large earthmoving projects (dams, reclamation), landfills and waste deposits, commercial site prep - complex design, underground utilities, dredging, break water construction, commercial site prep (pads, grading for large slabs), residential site prep, subdivisions (pads, local infrastructure), land reclamation projects, golf course construction, railway construction, landfills and waste deposits and residential site prep.
