BIM

KOREC is focused on delivering solutions that tightly link office based process and information with the engineers and surveyors working on site. Our positioning technology enables surveyors and engineers to take the BIM and other design data to the field for highly accurate positioning and construction.

Our laser scanning technology produces accurate 3D models of as-built structures which can be introduced into the BIM process for redesign, visualisations and clash detection.

BIM is a process, a process of generating and managing building data during its life cycle. It is not a suite of slick software. Typically BIM is a 3D representation of a building, made up of individual building components that contain specific information about themselves... location, material, dimensions, manufacturer, fire rating and carbon footprint to name a few.

Proponents of BIM state that the benefits of taking this collaborative approach with everyone, from surveyors to contractors, working from the same 3D model speak for themselves:
  • Improved visualisation
  • Improved productivity due to easy retrieval of information
  • Increased coordination of construction documents
  • Embedding and linking of vital information such as vendors for specific materials, location of details and quantities required for estimation and tendering
  • Increased speed of delivery
  • Reduced costs
Trimble is focused on delivering solutions that tightly link office based process and information with the field crew—including taking Building Information Models (BIM) and other design data to the field for highly accurate positioning and layout of foundations and mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Trimble solutions provide a high-level of process and workflow integration from the design phase through to the finished project—delivering significant improvements in productivity throughout the building construction lifecycle.
