Galliford Try are the contractors on the £300 million Scotswood regeneration project, a 62-hectare scheme in the west end of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and will carry out most of the £19m-worth of site preparation work.  Of course a job like this is a perfect showcase for the Trimble SPS range of products and PQS Survey were quick to introduce Galliford Try to both KOREC and Trimble’s SPS882 GPS and TSC3 logger with SCS900 Site Controller software on board. Yesterday I was out training on a very muddy site in Cheshire. The site is using Trimble GNSS kit for surveying and have also been using machine control at earlier stages in the earthworks.   The Base GNSS receiver is an SPS851 with the data logging option enabled in it. With the data logging option enabled it is possible to log raw GNSS data that can be post processed using RINEX data from the Ordnance Survey to obtain an accurate National Grid fix.
