To conincide with the release of Trimble Business Centre – HCE v2.10, Trimble have also released SCS900 v2.71. This release comes shortly after Trimble released v2.70 of SCS900, however it is not just an interim release. 2.71 brings a number of hotly anticipated addon features Avoidance zones Tap-and-hold deleting of points or lines Level compensator cailbrations for Total Stations

At the end of the 3 day GNSS training course run this past week in Huntingdon, a little time was spent going through how to check the optical plumb on the tribrach. We spend a great deal of time making sure that when we establish new control points using GNSS that the processing is done to a high degree of precision. However during the course of the survey the antenna is generally mounted in a tribrach on top of a tripod. For all those who use Trimble office software to post-process GNSS survey data there is now a new configuration update file available dated 20th August 2010. This file updates the antenna and receiver information used in GPS post processing to ensure that the best possible levels of accuracy are achieved from your data. As the Ordnance Survey take advantage of the regular improvements in receiver and antenna technology it is important to keep up to date with the characteristics of any new hardware in order to calculate GPS positions accurately and correctly. Yesterday saw KOREC’s Andy McCann and Ross Smith team up at a Network Rail organised event in Tuebrook, Liverpool. Attended by Network Rail staff from the North of England and Scotland, KOREC rubbed shoulders with other invited plant suppliers inlcuding Hydrex and Quattro Plant. The Network Rail event was the perfect opportunity to show off our Network Rail approved GEDO CE Track Measurement Device (TMD) and our Trimble range of Machine Control and Site Positioning Systems including the SPS882 GPS and SPS930 Universal Total Station.
