Quattro / Network Rail Open Day

Braving the cold, blustery and extremely wet weather Cumbria has to offer, KOREC have recently supported a successful open-day in Carlisle for Network Rail. Put on by Quattro Plant, the open-day objective was to demonstrate to Network Rail’s upcoming maintenance and renewals teams how the newest rail technology can benefit them. KOREC have supplied Quattro plant with numerous state-of-the-art Machine Control systems over recent history, and to showcase Trimbles talents a Trimble GCS900 UTS system was equipped on one of Quattro’s D41 Komatsu dozers. Cloud-Computing to Underground Survey – TSA Discussion Group

Having spent an interesting day at Civils on Wednesday in London my roadtrip from Liverpool continued down to Southampton yesterday for The Survey Association‘s Discussion Group which was kindly hosted by the Ordnance Survey at their Business Centre. The day certainly followed a varied agenda with ranging from insurance to cloud computing and a fascinating insight into the varied works carried out by the English Heritage Metric Survey team. KOREC supports Civils

The KOREC stand at this years Civils Exhibition at Earls Court was the the perfect place for anyone interested in finding out about the latest Trimble Machine Control Systems or trying out the rugged and portable Trimble Tablet. Whilst the show boasted a talk by Liberal Democrat Shadow Chancellor, Vince Cable, the KOREC Team concentrated on catching up with customers, old and new. KOREC TechTip: Manually Licencing Trimble FastMap/GeoSite

If you are trying to licence FastMap and Geosite you will need access to the internet.  On the Licence Manager the online light should be a bright green. N.B. You may have browser access to the internet but this is unlit (dark green).  A firewall will be blocking access.  Don’t worry this is very common under corporate IT policies.  Follow the steps below, however you will need browser access. How to Licence FastMap/GeoSite software on a USB stick. This assumes you have managed to install the software successfully. Run the licence manager for the relevant software package.
